Louis Henry Brecht III, 76, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018, at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Lou was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, mentor to his Respiratory Therapy colleagues, caregiver to his patients, and beloved by his church family. Lou, as he was known to everyone, was born in Baltimore, Maryland to his parents Louis and Alice. He served our great nation in the U.S. Navy from 1960-64.
Lou is survived by his Karolyn his wife of 53 years. He is also survived by his children Lou IV and Amie, and grandchildren Mark, Sean, David, Abigail and his great-granddaughter, Aujenaé. He was an entrepreneur in every sense and he headed the Respiratory Department at BWMC for 15 years. He loved the ocean and to eat seafood as often as he could. He was still working as of April and would still be working if he could as he loved his patients and all of his work family.
The family will receive visitors at the family owned Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. S.W. (at Crain Highway) Glen Burnie on Sunday, Nov. 25th, from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, November 26th, at 10 AM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens in Baltimore.
