Louis Saffran, Jr

On June 13, 2007, Louis William Saffran, Jr., of Glen Burnie. Beloved husband of Priscilla; loving father to Denise Carey and her husband Chuck; dear son of Margaret Saffran and the late Louis Wiliam Saffran, Sr.; caring brother of Jean Dinkel and Richard Saffran; and cherished grandfather to Chuckie, Patrick, and Amanda. He served in the United States Air Force from 1959-1963, was ranked Sargeant. He was a Maryland State Trooper from 1964-1986. Louis was awarded Police Officer of the year in 1972. He then became Assistant Director of Medical Services for the Maryland State Police from 1986-1992. After being with the State Police, he went on to work for the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services where he currently worked before his passing. He was the Risk Management Consultant. Louis belonged to the American Legion, Maryland Trooper Association, Glen Burnie Moose, I.P.A., and Fraternal Order of Police. In his spare time, he greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, landscaping, and was also a great handyman. He will be greatly missed by many.
