Mr. Louis C. Slechta, 89, of Linthicum, Maryland passed away on March 24, 2010 at Heart Homes of Linthicum after a brief illness. Mr. Slechta was born in Baltimore, MD in 1920 to the late Frank and Barbara Slechta. Louis served in the US Army from 1942-1945 where he received numerous awards including the Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Ribbon and the Chinese War Memorial Badge and Medal. He worked as an Electrician at Western Electric. Louis was also a member of American Legion Post # 39. His hobbies included telling jokes and making people happy, being an active member in Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church and mostly participating in family activities. He was the beloved husband of 2 years of Agnes Slechta. He is also survived by 4 step-children and a host of family members including numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews and many friends at Heart Homes. He was predeceased by his first wife, Evangeline Slechta.
