Margaret Bates

On January 19, 2009, Margaret Elizabeth Bates (nee Rohm) 96 years old of Severna Park; beloved wife of the late William H. Bates; devoted mother of Lillian M. Swain, Evelyn Faye Hess and Harry J. Bates; loving grandmother of Lillian Dye, Eileen Swain, Steven Swain, Brian Swain, Lynn Collison and Kathy Bates; dear great grandmother of Victoria Kotona, Arthur Sommers, Steven Swain, Jr., Richard Swain, Jeanne Swain, Julie Swain, Melissa Swain, Danielle Swain, Kala Bates and Kristie Bates; dear great great grandmother of Kody Sommers.
Mrs. Bates worked for 25 years for Kraft Foods as clerical worker and computer operator and had also worked at McCormick's running machines. She is a past Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Glen Burnie Chapter #63 and was active in the Jobs Daughters an the Cedarettes. She loved to bowl and was still bowling up into her 80's. She also liked to knit, crochet and sew.
