Margaret Jane Lesko

     Margaret Jane Lesko, 98 of Glen Burnie, MD passed away peacefully on September 6, 2023.  She was born in Fox Hill, PA on January 2, 1925, to the late George and Margaret Hayes.  She was a dear sister to 7 siblings, Dorothy, Esther, Barbara, Louise, George, Larry and Elmer Hayes.  

     Peggy was married to her beloved husband, the late Cyril Lesko for 71 years.  She worked as a seamstress at a textile company in Fox Hill, PA. and alongside with Cyril who had over 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, traveled to many military bases inside the U.S. and overseas. 

     Before settling down in Glen Burnie, MD, she became a devoted mother raising 4 children: Rhonda Tappa (Donald); Andrew Lesko (Teri); Matthew Lesko; daughter-in-law, Sharon Lesko; and was preceded in death by her son, Keith Lesko. 

     She was the loving grandmother of: Jeremy Welsh (Cindy); Aubrey Zagrodny (Scott); Jessica Elms; Joshua Lesko; Daphne Rill (Logan); and Corey Lesko (Nicolette). 

She was the cherished great-grandmother of Austin, Jillian and Madison Welsh; Natalie Elms, and Talia Zagrodny.

     Peggy was a long-time member with the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Glen Burnie, and later retired from Social Security in Woodlawn, MD.  She loved being surrounded by family and friends, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, bus trips, outings, going to the beach, card games, ice cream, swinging on her porch swing, and talking to everyone she would meet. She has touched so many people throughout her lifetime with her outgoing personality, spreading love, joy, humor and wit, Peggy had a natural way that made people smile.  She will be forever in our hearts . . .

     Family & friends may gather at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1  2nd Ave. S.W. (at Crain Hwy) on Thursday, September 21^st, from 11am - 1pm.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held immediately following at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel.  Interment to follow at MD Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville.
