Marie Greenhalgh

Marie Greenhalgh of Glen Burnie passed away on July 11, 2017 surrounded by her family after a long, full, and independent life of 96 years.

Marie was born on December 13, 1920 in Scotland to the late John William and Mary (Freeman) Snape. She was born into a large family and had thirteen siblings. During her childhood she cultivated her oratory and vocal abilities. While in High School she was invited to London to sing, however her father did not allow her to make the trip. She was also the recipient of the Gold Medal of Scotland for her beautiful singing voice. Marie was a truly an elegant lady, a gracious host, and an outstanding cook. She and her late husband Brian started the Royal Air Force Charity Chapter in Luxembourg she served as the organizations Vice President. She led the organization to help a lot of people and received recognition from many Ambassadors for her service. Her philanthropic efforts gained her an invitation by the Queen Mother to her Garden Party. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and tapestry however she enjoyed being with her family most. She moved to Glen Burnie to be closer to her family over twenty years ago.

She is survived by her daughter, Danielle Seiler; son, Robin Charles Macgregor Keir; grandchildren, Kimberly Seiler (Tami), Macgregor Seiler (Debbie), Jason Seiler; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Karner, Rebecca Karner, and Robert Seiler; and partner of her daughter Glenn Walters, Sr. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Charles Davie Keir, Squadron Leader, Fleet commander at Stansted Airport, and Brian Greenhalgh, also a Squadron Leader; and her son, Macgregor "Mac" Charles Keir.
