On June 30, 2018, Marie S. Marr, 95, of Willards, Maryland, passed away peacefully at Chesapeake Manor Assisted Living. Marie was born on July 13, 1922, in Auburn, New York, to the late Julia and Michael Suhan. She was a certified electrical engineer who is known for Oscar satellites of AmSat/NASA. Marie was a member of the Lions Club, the Red Hat Society, and volunteered at various hospitals up until the age of 91. She was quite a jokester. She enjoyed a variety of activities and subjects throughout her lifetime. She loved Betty Boop, crocheting, knitting, reading, dancing, shopping, skeet shooting (younger years), and painting. She also enjoyed going to the beach, learning about history and science (especially space), the Native American culture, and she even started riding a motorcycle at the age of 61.
Marie has left behind quite a legacy in this world. She is survived by her beloved children, John Marr,Jr, Glenn Marr, Darlene Marr, Edward Marr, Julia Marr, and Richard Marr; her 15 cherished grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren; and her faithful companion, Oscar. In addition to her parents, Marie was predeceased by her devoted husband of 57 years, John E. Marr, Sr., five grandchildren - Jennifer Marr, Michael White, Don White, John DeLouche, and Mitch Sarra, and her brother, John Suhan who died in World War II.
