Marjorie Musser

Mrs. Marjorie Catherine Ranck Ratcliffe Musser passed from this earthly life on Monday, Jan. 14th, 2013 at The Villages of Wilkes where she had resided for the past three weeks. Margie was born Aug. 1, 1922 in Bloomsburg, PA to Lee Edgar and Margaret Fischer Ranck. She graduated from Washington and Lee High School in Arlington, VA. She was homemaker and a lifetime member of the Eastern Star.

Her first marriage was to Virgil Allen Ratcliffe, Jr. on July 8, 1944. After his death in 1978, she married Lewis Musser in 1984. Mr. Musser preceded her in death in 2001.

Mrs. Musser is survived by her two sons, Lee Allen Ratcliffe of Seattle, WA and Thomas Albert Ratcliffe and wife Sharon of Thurmond, NC. Her grandsons are Stephen Thomas Ratcliffe of Thurmond, NC and Hoyt David Robertson and wife April of Ronda, NC. She also has a great-granddaughter, Tressie Grace Robertson of Ronda, NC. Zoe, her best canine companion will forever miss her.

Elkin Funeral Home is handling arrangements for the family in North Carolina. Singleton Funeral Home in Glen Burnie, MD will handle the graveside service at Nichols-Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery at 11:00 am on Jan. 19th. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 688 N. Bridge St., Elkin, NC 28621.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Villages of Wilkes for their care of mom. We would also like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice, especially Cathy Johnson, RN for their care in her last days.
