On Saturday November 17, 2012, Mark L. Stancil, of Severn, passed away at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Mr. Stancil was born in Macclesfield, N.C. on June 12, 1932. Mark served our country in the Air Force between 1955 to 1959. He received a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the Virginia Commonwealth University and became the first Director of Workforce and Technology Center, formally the Maryland Rehabilitation Center. Mark was an avid Orioles fan and enjoyed golf.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan M. Stancil; his 4 children, Paul Stancil and his wife Helene, Dale Stancil and his wife Leslie, Sandra Jung, and Douglas Stancil and his wife Dayna. Mr. Stancil is also survived by 8 grandchildren and a brother, David Stancil of Vermont.
Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery - Crownsville, will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in his name maybe made to the Friends of WTC, 301 Argonne Dr., Baltimore, MD 21218, or Ark & Dove Presbyterian Church, 8424 Orchard Pkwy., Odenton, MD 21113
