Mary Benson

On Wednesday, April 19, 2023, Mrs. Mary Ellen (Mink) Benson, born on April 8, 1933 in St. Charles, VA, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side, at the age of 90 years.

She worked at Adolph's Hair Salon in Brooklyn Park, MD as a hairdresser. From 1975 to 1986, she was a nursing assistant at the Maryland Manor Nursing Home, Glen Burnie, MD and then from 1986 to 1996 at North Arundel Hospital, Glen Burnie, MD. She was a member of VFW Post 434, Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed playing cards, taking cruises, shopping at the thrift stores and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Louis O. Benson, to whom she was married to for 62 years; grandson, Leonard F. Stevens, II; her brothers, Kenneth and George Mink; and her parents, Irene and Preston Mink.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Deborah Pease and her husband, Marvin; granddaughters, Kristie Pirozzi and her husband, Mike, Jennifer Bogar and her fiance, Jayson Braim, Kirstyn Beaver and her husband, Donnie; her seven great-grandchildren, Courtney Pirozzi, Siri and Sadie Bogar, Beau Braim, Mason, Kinsley and Dylan Beaver; and her brother, Preston Mink. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Graveside Service and Interment will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5829 Ritchie Highway, Brooklyn, MD at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in her name to the Hospice of the Chesapeake Foundation, John & Cathy Belcher Campus, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
