Mary Havlik

On February 13, 2006, Mary C. Havlik (nee Cesarec) passed away at the age of 86. The beloved wife of John Havlik for 54 years; Loving mother of Cdr. John R. Havlik (USN) and of Elizabeth L. Havlik and her fiance Steve Sierocki; Dearest sister of Mary Schram. Mary graduated from St. Mary's of Nazareth School of Nursing and from Loyola College in Chicago. She worked as an Industrial Nurse, Public Health Nurse, Surgical Nurse and later as a school teacher and librarian/media specialist. Mary served her country in the United States Navy as a nurse from 1944 - 1945 and was a member of the Naval Reserves until 1951. A member of the Sodality Women of Good Shepherd Parish, the American Legion, the Retired Offiers Wifes' Club and the N.E. Chapter of ACICV. Mary enjoyed music, drawing, crafts, social gatherings, her church, going on cruises and chocolate. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her friends. Mary will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery on Tuesday, April 11th at 11:00 AM with full honors. All who plan to attend, please meet at the Family Center no later than 10:30 AM.
