Mary Elizabeth Hynson

Mary Elizabeth Hynson, 73, of Glen Burnie, passed away at Baltimore Washington Medical Center on January 10, 2025.  She was born in South Baltimore to the late Catherine and William Tolson, Sr.  Mary graduated from Southern High School in 1971, and went on to become an insurance agent for Erie and then Hynson Insurance company for over 35 years.  Some of her hobbies included playing bingo and crafting.  Mary also enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was a member of the “Geezer Group” at American Legion Post 187 and the “Cherry Bomb” Group of friends.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear sisters, Theresa Crook and Patricia Shifflett.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Raymond C. Hynson, Sr.; loving children, Raymond C. Hynson, Jr. and his wife, Danielle, and Kristina M. Wagner and her husband, Ronald; cherished grandchildren, Chelsea Hynson, Nicholas Hynson, Zoe Haverstock, Gabe Haverstock, Elijah Wagner, and Seth Hynson; and her beloved brother, William Tolson, Jr.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., Glen Burnie, on Wednesday, January 15th, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM and again on Thursday, from 10 AM – 12 noon.  A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at noon, in the funeral home chapel.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital OR American Heart Association by visiting www.stjde.org OR www.heart.org
