Mary Preast

Mary Leona Preast, 89, of Severna Park, Maryland, passed away at her home in Severna Park on October 1, 2021. Mary was born in Wyndal, West Virginia on August 6, 1932 to the late Willie Fonda and George Peterson. She was a high achiever from an early age. She received highest honors and an award of excellence at her high school. Mary was the first in her family to attend college. She worked as an executive secretary with the U.S. Postal service from 1972-1993 and then advanced to a supervisory position for a few years prior to her retirement. Mary was a lover of music and a talented pianist. She was also a proficient ballroom dancer and loved creating crafts for her friends and family.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 67 years, Haymond B. Preast.

She is survived by her loving son and daughter, Timothy and Teresa; cherished grandchildren, Michelle, Daniel, Tabitha and David; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Quinnton, Xavier, Westley, Preston, Levi, Lily and Bodhi.

A private service and burial will be held in Davidsonville at Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
