Mary Louise Prunkl

Mary Louise Prunkl, passed away on December 14, 2024, in Linthicum, MD, at the age of 94. Born on January 8, 1930, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late John and Mary Crump.

Mary was an accomplished accountant, spending many years with Westinghouse. Her attention to detail and dedication to her profession earned her respect among her colleagues. She approached her work with the same passion she brought to her personal interests, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Mary had a rich life filled with hobbies that brought her joy. She was an avid quilter, skillfully crafting beautiful quilts that were not only a testament to her creativity but also a source of comfort for her family and friends. Additionally, Mary found joy in the sport of bowling, often participating in leagues and sharing laughter and camaraderie with fellow bowlers.

Mary is survived by her children, Rose Engelmeyer (Robert), Gale Ferguson, and William Prunkl (Cathy); along with her daughter-in-law, Kim Shanaberger. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson. Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Shanaberger, and her two sons, Mickey Prunkl and Sam Shanaberger.

While her departure is felt profoundly by those who knew her, the impact she made will forever be remembered. Mary Louise Prunkl will be greatly missed, but her spirit will linger in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Friday, Dec. 20th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 21st at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
