Mary Strain

On October 14, 2009, Mary Anne Strain passed away after a long battle with cancer. Mary has been a resident of Ferndale for 40 years. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Ronald J.; two sons, Chris and Jeff Strain; grandchildren, Fayth, Nikolas, Riley, and Jacob; and two sisters, Susan Giacobbe and Eileen Strohl. Mary was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Susan Kacmar. She attended Kutztown University, where she majored in elementary education; she continued her studies in Maryland. Mary was an elementary school teacher for the Archdiocese of Baltimore for 25 years. She has been a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church for 40 years. Mary loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, crocheting, card making, and scrapbooking.
