Mary Wingate

Mary E. Wingate, 84, of Smithsburg, Maryland passed away on Monday, August 16th 2021. Mary was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania to the late Clarence and Vera Troutman on October, 21st 1936. She was employed with Optic Graphics for over 20 years until they closed their doors. She went on to work 12 years for Heartland Assisted Living. Mary was very artistic and loved crafts, she was known for her scrapbooks, quilts and crosses. She could make just about anything. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, Frank O. Wingate, her stepchildren, Debra (Chuck) Scott, Kevin Wingate and her step grandchildren, Noah George, Sean Scott and Katie Cadden.  She is predeceased by her stepson, Frank O. Wingate, Jr.

The family will receive visitors at the family owned Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Avenue SW (at Crain Hwy) Glen Burnie on Wednesday, August 25th from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and a funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 26th in the funeral home chapel at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
