On September 17, 2021, Mary Jeanne Larson (née LaPage) was called home to the Lord, after a brief illness. She was with family, listening to Frank Sinatra and old stories. Jeanne was the beloved wife of her late husband Paul for 57 years.
Jeanne was born and raised in Chicago, relocated to Maryland when Paul took a job at Westinghouse, and together they raised their family there. When her five children were older, she went to work at Westinghouse as an Executive Secretary, serving in a number of different roles and departments. Paul and Jean enjoyed Maryland for 32 years before they retired in Hudson, Florida, where they had a beautiful home and enjoyed entertaining many visiting friends and family members. She relocated to Maryland in May of this year to be closer to family.
Jeanne is the devoted mother to Lance (Dawn), Pam Flores (Joe), Diane (Brad Spry), Lisa Karvellas, and her love Laura, who preceded her in death (1984). She is also the cherished grandmother of Laura (Mike Powell), Samuel, Lena, Alia, Lucas, Mari, Corey, Hannah (Eli Joyner), Naomi, Paul, Aaron and James, and the loving great-grandmother to Eloise (who she finally met this summer when she moved to Maryland). She was the caring sister to Lois, and two brothers – Jack and Joe – who preceded her in death. She was also Aunt Jeannie to numerous nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by her loving of circle of friends, all around the country.
Jeanne loved her family fiercely, and enjoyed computers, bowling, dancing, visiting with friends, playing games with friends and family, going out to eat, and of course a stiff martini or three. She was a bright light that lit up the room when she entered, and she was the first to get the party started. We are all at peace at the thought that she has rejoined the love of her life Paul, her daughter Laura, her mom and dad, brothers, and countless other relatives and dear friends. She is now dancing in heaven.
