Mary Madeline Ernst, 83, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, passed away on September 20, 2021. Madeline, as she was better known as, was born in Baltimore, on October 14, 1937, to the late Bridgette and Joseph L. Ernst, Sr. She graduated from Seton High School, and after graduation, she went on to work at USF&G Insurance Company, working her way up to a Supervisor in the Underwriting Department. Madeline was a member of the Ladies of the Moose, and she loved dogs. She also enjoyed all things Maryland – especially seafood, having an occasional beer, and limburger cheese & rye bread sandwiches. Madeline was the caretaker of the family. She practically dedicated her life to taking care of family members that needed care.
In addition to her parents, Madeline was predeceased by her brothers, Henry (Edith) Ernst, Frank Ernst, and Joseph (Florence) Ernst, Jr. She is survived by her beloved nephew, Joseph L. Ernst III and his wife Diane; her cherished godsons, Michael Harper and his wife Kathy, and Kevin DeVaughn; her double cousin, Beth O’Connell, and her cousin, Laura (Will) Nantz.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Monday, September 27th from 2-4 & 6 - 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 28th at 11:00 am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Madeline’s name may be made to BARCS at www.barcs.org
