Maximina Pineda Ormido

April 25, 1934 — April 10, 2025

Maximina Pineda Ormido, a beloved and cherished mother, wife, and grandmother passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025, at her residence in Severn, Maryland.  Born on April 25, 1934 in Gapan, a city located in the Nueva Ecija Province of the Philippines, she dedicated her life to her family and career, leaving behind a lasting impression on those who knew her.

Maximina completed her education with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Santo Tomas, embarking on a fulfilling career as a pharmacist in the Philippines, before moving to the United States in 1971.  Her commitment to her profession was matched only by her devotion to her family, whom she supported with unwavering love and care.

She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 60 years, Rolando B. Ormido, Sr., their loving children, Marissa (Jim) Thein, Rolando Ormido, Jr., and her treasured grandchildren: Travis Thein, Emilia Thein, Joshua Ormido, and Grace Ormido.  Together, they shared beautiful moments filled with laughter, warmth, and the spirit of love that defined her life.

Maximina found joy in the simple pleasures of life.  She loved engaging in games of Mahjong, cultivating her garden, and crocheting beautiful creations.  Her heart was also filled with love for her dogs—Rexie, Chuchi, Chica, Bridget, Marco, and Sky—who brought her endless companionship and joy.

Maximina's passing leaves a significant void in the hearts of her loved ones, but her legacy of kindness, care, and unyielding love will continue to resonate in their lives.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Romana and Sixto Pineda, along with her eight siblings, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms.

Her life will be celebrated with visitations at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services on May 2, 2025, with the first session from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by another from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in her honor on May 3, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church, at 10:30 AM.  Memorial contributions in Maximina's name may be made to the Tate Cancer Center at https://www.umms.org/bwmc/health-services/cancer/services/cancer-support-services OR Christ the King Catholic Church at https://ctkandstb.org/online-giving-at-christ-the-king.  In this time of mourning, we remember the love and light that Maximina brought into our lives.  She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those she touched.
