Melva Schaefer

Melva I. Schaefer, 86, of Catonsville, passed away on August 3, 2015. Melva was born on August 6, 1928 in Baltimore to the late Lewis and Hadie Moore. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, reading and traveling. She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Donald E. Schaefer; her children, Donald L. Schaefer and his wife, Jennifer, and Darlene L. Coughlin and her husband, J. Timothy; her grandchildren, Donald E. Schaefer and his wife, Kristi, Katherine Mickels and her husband, Donovan, Bethany McCormick-Goodhart and her husband, David, Christopher E. Barnhouser and his wife, Stephanie, Kelly M. Coughlin and Patrick R. Coughlin; her great-grandson, Russell Boynton; her siblings, Thelma Macky and Howard Moore.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday at 10 AM in the funeral home's chapel. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
