Melvin Beard

On February 17, 2007, Melvin C. Beard passed on. Melvin was a dear member of his family which includes his loving wife of 17 years, Mary P. Beard; his late wife, Charlotte (Rheir) Beard; his children, Norman F. Beard and Kathleen Cunningham; his step-children, Ed Sloman and the late Carolyn Herner; his sons-in-law, Charles Cunningham and Mark Herner; his brothers, Norman I. Beard and the late Charles Beard; and his sister, the late Audrey Ward. Melvin was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1917. He was a member of the United States Army during World War II, from 1939 to 1945. He was a Maintenance Supervisor with BG&E for over 35 years. Melvin was an active member of many clubs in Maryland. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, the Anne Arundel County Democratic Club and Elks Club number 2266. He enjoyed many hobbies. Melving enjoyed travelling, reading history, building models and sports such as football, baseball and bowling. He was a big fan of the Baltimore Orioles. Melvin was a dear man who will be missed by many.
