Melvin Gregory Cox, 97, of Glen Burnie, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2022, at Autumn Lake Health Care in Pikesville. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on January 29, 1925, to the late Madeline and Alvin Cox. Melvin served his country proudly for 25 years in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. He enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with family and friends.
Melvin is survived by his loving nieces & nephews, Sharon Friedman, Terri Mohr - Glenn, Harold Whitwer, Denny Smith - Debra, Ricky Smith - Mimi . He is also survived by many great-nieces & nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. S. W. (at Crain Hwy), on Wednesday, January 11th, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, January 12th, at 10 AM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at MD Veterans Cemetery – Crownsville.
