Melvin Riesett

Melvin (Jim) Riesett 79 of Cordova (previously of Glen Burnie) was peacefully called home on December 9, 2013. Melvin worked for thirty years at the former Red Line Trucking Company and twelve years at Crownsville State Hospital. He enjoyed watching the Ravens and Orioles, crabbing and fishing, and especially, spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Julia Riesett, loving father of Kathleen Basciano (John), Margaret Magnuson (Thomas), Veronica Weathers (Steve), Patricia Born (Louis), and his sister Muriel. He was also the cherished grandfather to nine grandchildren. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews. Melvin will be dearly missed by his family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake or the American Cancer Society.
