On Friday, June 30, 2023, Merrill William Hoovler (75) of Harrington, DE, formerly of Glen Burnie, MD, passed away in Dover, DE. Beloved husband of Beverly A. Hoovler, loving father of Christina Hoovler, Brother of Beverly Brennstuhl and her husband Gary and the late Robert Hoovler. Brother-in-law of Mary Kelly, Paul Tryon and his wife Chrissie, Donna Price and Thomas Tryon and his wife Dawn. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Bill, as he chose to be called, graduated from Fredericktown High School, OH, class of 1965. Following graduation, he served with the US Army in Viet Nam during the Viet Nam War. Bill was an avid car enthusiast and drag racer, founding Arundel Chassis & Components in 1984 and later Arundel Trailer Sales in 2004. He touched many in the automotive community as the friend who was always willing to help others when needed.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, 1 Second Avenue, SW, Glen Burnie, MD 21061 (at Crain Highway) on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm where a “Time of Remembrance” will begin at 7:00 pm. His Committal Service and Interment will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023 at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032 at 1:00 pm where Mr. Hoovler will receive Military Honors. If desired, Memorial Contributions may be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
