On September 11, 2015 Michael C. Schoppert, Sr., of Pasadena; beloved husband of 46 years to Rosalie Schoppert (nee Schreiner); devoted father of Michael C. Schoppert, Jr., David J. Schoppert and wife Gina, Mary Klemkowski Capp and husband Matty; loving grandfather of Amanda Hamby and husband Mike, Joshua Schoppert, Lauren, Eugene III, Erin and Emily Klemkowski, Tyler, Rileigh and Giana Schoppert; cherished great-grandfather of Krista Lynn Schoppert. Mike leaves many loving relatives, friends and his faithful dog, Pebbles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bridget Monaghan Haller and Clyde T. Schoppert; and his siblings, Ruth C. German, James P. Schoppert and Thomas Haller.
Mike was very proud to have served 20 years in the United States Army, retiring as Sergeant First Class and was also a dedicated mail carrier for 21 years, Locust Point. He was a member of the American Legion Post 40 and a life member of VFW #6506 Rosedale. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, classic cars and ice cold beer.
In lieu of flowers, Mike's wishes were to have donations made in his name to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517; Topeka, KS 66675.
