Midge Knell, 77, of Linthicum, Maryland passed away on November 13, 2021 at Saint Agnes Hospital. She was born in Baltimore on May 15, 1944. Midge was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas S. and Bertha J. Henderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Henderson.
Midge was the loving mother of Wayne Knell Jr. and his wife, Lisa Spooner Knell and Michele Knell Geckle and her husband, Matthew Geckle. She was the adoring grandmother of four grandchildren, Wayne Joseph, III and his wife, Kelsey, and Nicholas Scott Knell, R. Thomas and Faith Noel Folderauer; and cherished great-grandmother of Nora Louise Knell. She is also survived by dear sister-in-law, Elizabeth Henderson, and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
Midge graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1962. She moved to Glen Burnie in 1967 and began her 35-year career in Real Estate Sales in 1976 with Chris Coile & Associates in Glen Burnie. Midge graduated from Anne Arundel Community College in 1991 where she received an Associate of Arts Degree in Business. She moved to her home in Linthicum in 2002. Linthicum was a community that she was dedicated to and loved. Midge was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Linthicum Shipley Improvement Association and Membership Chairman of the GFWC Woman’s Club of Linthicum Heights. She retired from Real Estate Sales with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Severna Park in 2011. Midge loved her dogs, more than anyone can imagine. She also enjoyed trips with her grandchildren, time with her family and friends, scrapbooking and gardening.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, 1 2nd Avenue SW, Glen Burnie, on Monday, Nov. 22nd, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, 11 AM, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Midge’s memory to the Woman’s Club of Linthicum Heights, P.O. Box 301, Linthicum, MD 21090.
