Allen Elwood Garber, 82, of Glen Burnie, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020. Al was born on November 23, 1937, in Libertytown, Maryland, to the late Hilda and Allen Garber. He was an engineer for Westinghouse / Northrop Grumman for 42 years and his favorite holiday was Groundhog Day. Al enjoyed NASCAR and cheering on the Orioles & Ravens. But most of all, Al loved spending time with his family.
Al is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Frances N. Garber; his loving daughters, Cindy (Mike) Spurlin and Melody (Mark) Waybright; his cherished grandchildren, Courtney, Jason, Heather, Mark Jr., Matthew, Scotty, and Zachary and their spouses; and his seven beloved great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Al was predeceased by his son, Scott Garber and his wife Trish, and his dear sisters, Maxine Scardina and Marie Kreiner.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy), on Friday, January 24th, from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 25th, at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Glen Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Allen’s name may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org
