Carmello (Carl) Joseph DiFatta, 93, died at Beebe Hospital in Lewes, Delaware on Friday, October 25, 2019 after a short illness. Carl was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wyona, and long time friend and companion, Reathia Tringali. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas & Carol DiFatta, Dean & Marge DiFatta, and Carl & Gail DiFatta. He is also survived by 7 Grand Children and 13 Great Grand Children. Carl was a veteran of WWII, serving on the Destroyer Escort DE-99 “USS Cannon” on convoy escort duty in the Atlantic Theater. He retired from W.T. Cowan Trucking company, where he worked as a mechanic and served as a union shop Stewart. His final years were spent near Milton Delaware in the community of Overbrook Shores where he developed long standing and strong relationships with his many neighbors and friends. He will be missed terribly by all who knew him.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Thursday, Oct. 31st from 7-9PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, Nov. 1st at 10AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Meadowridge Memorial Park.
