Cecil Elwood Dean, 93, of Salem, West Virginia passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 9, 2019 at his residence.
Cecil was born in Esserville, VA into a large family to the late Fleet and Pearl (Stapleton) Dean. Early in life Cecil moved to Baltimore and begin to establish himself it is during this time he met and married the love of his life Beulah Parsons who he shared almost 65 years of marriage with. Cecil begin his career at Bethlehem Steel and later became an Electrician. Cecil devoted himself to providing for his family through hard work. He often worked more than one job to ensure his wife and children were taken care of. Cecil loved the outdoors and relocated to West Virginia later in life so he could enjoy the great outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; all of his beloved siblings; his loving wife Beulah Dean; sons, Herschel, and Robert Dean; daughter-in-law, Rose Dean; son-in-law, Al Pollard; grandsons, David and Jessie; and granddaughter, Sharron Pollard.
He is survived by his children, Sheila Baker, Dennis Dean, Sharron Pollard, Sandy Thomas (Al), and Cecil Dean (Cassie); he is also survived by a host of cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, S.W. (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Monday, July 22th, from 11 AM to 1 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held immediately following at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park.
