Denton Thomas Shively, 28, of Linthicum, passed away suddenly on July 27, 2020 from a motorcycle accident early Monday morning. He was born April 22, 1992 in Baltimore, Maryland. He is survived by his mother & step-father, Debra and Joseph Chaney; his father & step-mother, Thomas and Sara Shively; his siblings. Heather Baer and her husband Brent, their children Madelyn and Evan, Sierra Chaney, Stephanie Chaney, Madison Shively, Alexis Shively and Dylan Shively; his grandparents, Ed and Jackie Wyatt; his cousins, Kaylie Woodley and her husband Bobby, their daughters, Chloe and Harper, Erica Hoehl, AJ Greene, Ashley Greene and Raymond Bittner; his best friends, Adam Mason and Emily Catterton (who was like a sister to him), and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Denton, also known as Shive, loved life and lived it to the fullest. He had friends from all walks of life and kept in touch with many of them through the years. He was loved by many. He lit up a room when he arrived and was always smiling and making jokes. His sense of humor was the best, especially if the Orioles were losing or he was ranting on social media about something. He loved hanging out with his friends, playing soccer, and coaching and playing softball. His favorite holiday was O's opening day. He lived in Maryland for most of his life but recently spent a year and a half in Melbourne, Florida. He continued to return often because of his close relationship with his family in that area. Especially his nieces, Chloe and Harper, who stole his heart. He also spent time in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where his father's side of the family resides.
Denton was an amazing son, brother, nephew, uncle and grandson. He was always there when someone needed him. He will be missed by many but forgotten by none.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made the Organization for Autism Research, 211 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA 22201.
