On Wednesday, July 1, 2020, Edward R. Kelliher, Jr., 44, of Hanover, MD passed away unexpectedly. He was born in Massachusetts to Susan and Edward Kelliher, Sr. He graduated from Arundel Senior High School. Ed had a huge heart, was very caring, and was always willing to help others. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, paintballing, gaming, jet skiing, four wheeling and going to the Renaissance Festival.
Ed is survived by his loving parents, Susan K. (Joy) and Edward R. Kelliher, Sr. and sister, Carolyn Kelliher Beach of Virginia Beach, VA; aunts, uncles and numerous cousins, and close family friends, Mike, Luzmorena and Maximo Janson. Ed will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His memory and legacy will continue on in the lives he touched.
Ed worked for Cellular Sales of Maryland for 6 years, where he was the first employee to earn a Level 5 and be part of a nationwide President’s Club for high number sales and customer satisfaction. A dedicated martial artist, Ed was a fourth degree black belt in T’ang Soo Do style of karate, and shared his karate expertise as a manager and chief instructor for A.J. Bartlinski’s Karate in Glen Burnie for 18 years. His students who are adults still speak fondly of him and continued to stay in touch with him. He coached and coordinated the Demonstration Team performing live martial arts shows. He created a marketing idea for martial arts schools that garnished international attention and was featured in a national level karate magazine and dubbed Dart Wars Day. He ran charity fundraisers for the Alzheimer’s Association, earning over $25,000 in a 5 year span. Ed also had worked as a graphic designer for the National Transportation Safety Board for 2 years.
Public viewings will be held on Thursday, July 9 from 5 to 8pm and again on Friday, July 10 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW, Glen Burnie, MD. Funeral service and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are recommended to the Last Chance Animal Rescue at www.lastchanceanimalrescue.org
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, face masks are required while in the funeral home and a rotating 40-person limit is in force, so please keep your visits brief to allow others to offer their condolences to Ed’s family.
