Melva D. Norfolk, 92 of Glen Burnie passed away on June 17, 2020. Melva was born on February 7, 1928 in Baltimore to the late John and Margaret Rommel. She worked as a Head Teller for Equitable Trust, and later as a Nursing Assistant. Melva enjoyed reading and gardening; and was very passionate when it came to politics, animal welfare or disabled veterans.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Norfolk; and her niece, Debbie Crouch. Melva is survived by her daughter, Linda Yost and her husband, Roland; her granddaughter, Bethany Yost Orlando and her husband, Kevin; her grandchildren, Jacob, Peyton and Brady Orlando; her sister, Gloria Hughes; and her nephew, Charles Crouch, Jr.
The family will receive visitors (up to 40 people) at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Saturday, June 20th from 1-4 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 22nd at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel (40 person limit). Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made in Melva’s name to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County or to the Disabled American Veterans.
