Nancy M. Looker

Nancy was born in1938 in Baltimore Maryland.  She grew up in Arbutus and graduated from Catonsville High School.  She worked for a time at her parent’s grocery store.  Nancy worked the preponderance of her career at Venable Law Firm before retiring in 1999.  She took great pride in nurturing and developing the support staff.  Since retiring she continued to get cards and letters from both current and former employees expressing their thanks for her dedication and commitment to making the firm and them better.

She married Edward Looker, Jr., the love of her life.  They met when they were 13 years old and it was destiny they were to be together.  They had an extraordinary life together and were married almost 60 years before Ed passed away.  Nancy enjoyed the water and loved to boat and fish.  She also liked to travel, especially to New England in the fall.  She loved her Ocean City condo with the walks on the beach, the roar of the ocean and the wind in her face.  From an early childhood Nancy was an avid reader and enjoyed reading history as well as a good spy novel.

Nancy is survived by her brother William Kallas, her sister Barbara Buettner, sister-in-laws Linda Hovatter and Misty Looker, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Monday, Oct. 7th from 3-5 & 7-9 pm and Tuesday, Oct 8th from 11-1 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 8th at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park. Contributions in Nancy’s name may be made to a charity of your choice.
