Helen S. Puszaitis passed away on August 26, 2019. Helen was born on May 29, 1921 in Ferndale, MD. She graduated from Glen Burnie High School. Helen worked for Montgomery Ward on Monroe Street for 15 years, then worked for 31 years at W.R. Grace, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed travelling. In the early 1940's, she and her sister, Marie, cruised down to Tolchester and danced the night away, then went off to Atlantic City's Steel Pier and danced to the Big Bands. In later years, they danced the polka round and round at Blob's Park. Helen enjoyed travelling with her sister to New York City shows, to Alaska, Hawaii, Paris, Italy, Switzerland, Monte Carlo, Aruba, and on 12 cruises. Helen was a member of Ferndale Roadrunners, Glen Burnie Moose #1176, American Legion #195, Linthicum AARP, and Millersville Over 50. She went to their dances, parties, and on their trips. Bingo was okay, but she liked playing poker with friends.Years later when slots came to Vegas, Atlantic City and Maryland, Helen became a gambler. She enjoyed life with her sister. She is survived by cousin, Anna Hipsley and her husband David, their daughter, son and 4 grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at the family owned Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave SW (at Crain Hwy) Glen Burnie on Thursday, August 29th from 3-6 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, August 30th, 1 PM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
