On June 19, 2007, Myrna Sylvia Rossow, a resident of Glen Burnie for 44 years, passed away at her home after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She is the beloved wife of James Charles Rossow of 50 years; devoted mother of Sharon L. McClung and Dennis M. Rossow; dear sister to Silven Zimmerman, Antoinette Lilly, Marcella Gould, and the late Donna Jane Bishop and Ethel Marn; cherished grandmother to Amber, Megan, and Vincent McClung; loving great grandmother to Jada Burnham; and a loving aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Wilhelmina Zimmerman. Myrna has her BA, as well as certificates in Brick Laying, Ceramics, Real Estate, and Faux Finish Painting. She was the manager for family owned businesses: Rossow's Ceramics and The Pearl Outlet; she also worked at Briggs & Stratton in Milwaukee. Myrna resurrected and raised money for the Arundel Hills Community Association to fight high rise development along West Furnace Branch Road. She was primarily responsible in the creation of Arundel Hills Park. During her spare time she greatly enjoyed gardening, ceramics, sewing, going to Atlantic City, travelling, family "get togethers", volunteering for the Baltimore Annapolis Bike Trail Gardens and St. Philip Neri Catholic School, crafts, crabbing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by many.
