Nancy Lee Knight, 78, of Hanover passed away on August 22, 2017 after a severe stroke surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born on July 23, 1939 the 2nd of 8 children born to the late Richard Graham Plews and Maude Helen Plews (nee Kremer). She grew up in the Marley Park Community in a very close knit family. Nancy was raised in the Church of the Nazarene and attended Glen Burnie High School. She was employed with Bank of Glen Burnie and retired after 25 years as the manager of the Bookkeeping Department. Nancy enjoyed boating, gardening and watching all sports with her husband, especially Nascar Races every Sunday. She was also a past officer in the Ferndale Garden Club. She will be remembered as a loving woman whose enthusiasm and compassion left an imprint in those she came in contact with. Nancy is survived by her husband of 46 years, William "Huk" Charles Knight, III. Huk and Bill Shuey met Nancy and Sue Sanford at the Boulevard Bar in Marley during the 1968 World Series and married in 1971. She is also survived by two daughters, Jayne Stracke and Joan Frantum and her husband Sean; Kelly Moore, Chuck Bollino, Debbie Siebold, and Chris Bollino; grandchildren, William C. "WC" Bennet, Sr., Sean Frantum, Jr., Shane Frantum, Amber Frantum, Jim Stracke, III, Brittany Stracke, Danielle Stracke, and Rachel Stracke; three great-grandchildren, William C. Bennet, Jr., Katlyn N. Bennett, and Raelynn R. Frantum; her siblings, Richard "Dickey" Plews, Paul Plews, David Plews, Barbara Plews, Bonnie Diehl; and the Matriarch of the Plews Family, her Aunt Doris Eyring. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert and Shirley Ann Plews; son-in-law, James "Jim" Stracke, Jr.; and great-granddaughter, Alexis Groseclose.
The family will receive visitors at the family owned Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave SW (at Crain Hwy) Glen Burnie on Monday, August 28th from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, August 29th, at 1 PM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
