Norman D. Verill, Sr., 85, died at home on July1, 2013 after a brief illness. A resident of Glen Burnie, he was born in Boston, MA in 1928, entered the U.S. Navy in September 1945, and served at a Naval ammunition depot on the Patapsco near where the Key Bridge is now. A quiet man with a dry wit, he was very fond of friends, travel, and bowling. A founding member of Abundant Life Church in 1957, he served as church secretary there for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, and son, Norman, Jr. His daughter, Melanie Crawford, survives him.
