Odell Dixon was born on November 15, 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Wardell Dixon and Martha Barnette.
He departed this life on Friday, June 13, 2014 after a long fought battle with illness.
His passing was sudden and he is missed.
Odell attended Baltimore City schools and worked as a groundskeeper.
He accepted the Lord as his Savior at an early age and attended New Pilgrim Baptist Church for a period of time. He recently renewed his relationship with the Lord and shared a spiritual bond with his sister Betty. He was preceded in death by his younger brother Sam Jones.
Odell was a member of Active Day Care Center daily. He was a welcomed participant and he enjoyed playing dominoes and cards with other members of the center who became his good friends.
"Uncle Odell" as he was known to many, will be missed greatly by his close knit family members. The holidays won't be the same and we will miss his smile at the dinner table.
He leaves to cherish his memory: His wife of 36 years, Alice Fitzgerald Dixon, one son, Odell Dixon Jr., two step-daughters, Theresa and Sylvia Fitzgerald, two sisters, Betty Faulcon (Larry) & Eva West, one brother, Warren Hines of South Carolina, three grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and three cherished friends, Darlene Bullock, Kim Hollbert, and Sallie Twinam.
