Patricia Mathers

Patricia Joan Mathers, age 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She was born on April 12, 1945 in Portage, PA to the late Albert and Joan Kopnicky. She graduated from Portage High School. After graduation, she bravely left her small hometown and went to Virginia, where she worked for the U.S. Navy. She met the love of her life (yes, it was love at first sight) and within months engaged and then married on June 25, 1966. After a couple years, they moved permanently to MD. She had three daughters and was a stay-at-home Mom. After her children were grown, she worked as a medical assistant in Glen Burnie, MD. She retired and became a full-time caregiver to her only granddaughter Andrea.  Her biggest passion was her family. She also enjoyed bowling and then volunteering at the Glen Burnie Elks #2266, where she was an Officer, lounge decorator, Bingo worker (weekly & for weekend charities). Her absolute joy was being Mrs. Claus with Santa (aka her husband Larry). Patricia is survived by her husband Larry (spouse of 54 years), her brother Albert and his family, her daughter Carol and her partner Brian Sr., her daughter Lynn and son-in-law Ed, and her daughter Phyllis and her three beautiful grandchildren Brian Jr., Benjamin and Andrea and her cat Samantha & her grand-dog Wally.

All family and friends are invited to the visitation that will be held on Wednesday, February 17th, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM  and Thursday, February 18th from 2-4 & 6-8PM at our Celebration Center, located next to the funeral home at 206 Crain Highway South. On Friday, February 19th there will be a memorial service at 11AM at the Elks Lodge #2266 located at 828 Stevenson Road, Severn, MD. 21144. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are only allowing 50 people inside the Celebration Center home at one time and requiring masks for all visitors.
