Paul Shafer

On April 7, 2010, PAUL E. SHAFER of Glen Burnie; beloved husband of 62 years to Mary (nee Bellman); loving father of Paula Petrecca and her late husband John, George Shafer and wife Brenda, Kathy Francis and husband Michael; cherished grandfather of Alex Buchanan and wife Debbie, Jeremy Shafer and wife Jenn, Kevin Shafer, Kaelyn Francis, Karlee Francis, and Lyssa Tirrell; devoted great-grandfather to Hailey Buchanan and the late Austin Buchanan; dear brother of Herbert Shafer, Ada Mae Kremple, Louanna Sisler, Olaf Shafer, Martha Smith, and Russell Shafer. He was preceded in death by five siblings, Alva, Fredy, Frankie Shafer, Maxine Sisler, and Glenna McCarty. Paul served as a Merchant Marine from 1944-1947. He was employed with American Can Company for 31 1/2 years and Triangle Sign and Service for nine years. Paul greatly enjoyed gardening and working on cars. He loved to "tinker" and could fix anything, a true "handyman".
