On Thursday, July 13, 2023, Paul Fredrick Strong, Jr. of Glen Burnie, MD passed away peacefully with family by his side. Beloved husband of Marie E. Strong, Loving father of Steven M. Strong and his wife Jade, Jeffrey P. Strong and his wife Christine and Gregory D. Strong and his wife Thuy. Devoted grandfather of Hannah, Macie, Noah, Ava, Kara, Aubrey, Andrew, Brandon and Evelyn. He was preceded in death by his parents; Mildred and Paul F. Strong, Sr., sisters; Nadine, Joan and Paula. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Paul Strong, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, passed away on July 13, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 6, 1940, in the town of Kansas City, Paul’s journey through life was filled with love, laughter, and a relentless spirit that inspired all who knew him.
Early Years and Family Live
Paul was the youngest of four children born to Paul and Mildred Strong. Growing up in a modest household, he learned the value of hard work, determination, and the importance of family. Paul’s parents instilled in him a deep sense of compassion, integrity, and respect for others--traits that shaped him into the remarkable man he became.
Education and Career
After an enlistment in the U.S. Airforce, Paul embarked on a successful career with National Security Agency. While working at the N.S.A., he also earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Maryland. Throughout his professional life, Paul was known for his unwavering dedication, innovative thinking, and his ability to connect with people on a personal level. He was a mentor to many, always willing to share his wisdom to guide others on their paths to success.
A Devoted Family Man
While Paul found great fulfillment in his career, his true joy came from his role as a loving husband and father. In 1965, he married the love of his life, Marie Serio, and together they created a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Their marriage was an example of commitment, support, and unwavering devotion, lasting over six decades.
As a father, Paul’s love knew no bounds. He was a constant source of strength and inspiration to his three sons, Steven, Jeffrey, and Gregory. He shared in their triumphs and provided comfort during their trials, always reminding them that they could achieve greatness. Paul’s dedication to his family extended to his role as a grandfather, cherishing the moments spent with his grandchildren and offering them guidance as they navigated their own paths in life.
Passions and Legacy
Outside of work and family, Paul had a zest for life that was contagious. He was an avid collector of coins and beer steins, spending countless hours organizing, honing his eye for the rare items and enjoying the results of his efforts. He also enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, and enjoyed the challenge of putting them together.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, August 4th at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church, 801 Stevenson Road, Severn, MD 21144 from 10-11 AM, where a Memorial Mass will immediately follow at 11 AM. Inurnment at MD Veterans Cemetery to follow at 2:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in his name to the Pancreatic Cancer Network Action or to the American Cancer Society for Pancreatic Cancer.
