Philip Montgomery

Philip C. Montgomery, 99, of Hanover, passed away on January 14, 2018. Phil was born on June 15, 1918 in Glasgow, Scotland to the late James and Marian Montgomery. He was a WWII US Army veteran who received the Bronze Star and was at the Battle of the Bulge. Phil retired from the ATF after 40 years of service. He was very active in his church and also volunteered to teach adults to read. He was a wonderful woodworker and enjoyed his garden. Phil was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Frances Montgomery; his sisters, Margaret, Martha and Marian; and a great-grandson, Benjamin. He is survived by his daughters, Margaret Pindell and her husband, Bob; and Kathlyn Martin and her husband, Russ; his brother, James Montgomery. He is also survived by six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Thursday from 3-5 & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 105 1st Ave SW, Glen Burnie, MD 21061 on Friday, January 19th at 9 AM. Interment MD Veterans Cemetery Crownsville.
