R. Hanks

On August 16, 2009, R. Gene Hanks, a resident of Glen Burnie for 27 years. Beloved husband of 59 to Gloria M. Hanks; loving father of Kirsten D. Snyder, Stacey G. Henry, and Bradley S. Hanks; cherished grandfather of Adam, David, Benjamin, Zachary, Shaun, Abigail, and Mara; devoted great-grandfather of Haylie; dear brother of Barry Hanks. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Hanks. Gene was born in Friedens, Pennsylvania to the late Charles and Anna "Laverne" Hanks. He belonged to the Friedens Volunteer Fire Department for many years, American Legion in Somerset, Pennsylvania, and the Somerset Jay Cees. Gene loved to fly, that was his number one passion; he was a licensed pilot. He also enjoyed stone cutting and polishing, and operating the amateur HAMM radio.
