Rachael Waters

On May 9, 2023, Rachael Vanessa Waters, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side.

Rachael was born on July 30, 1980, at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. To know her was to love her. Family and friends were first attracted to Rachael’s big beautiful, blue eyes, and her long eyelashes. She had the funniest disposition, strong wit, and had a very loving and caring heart. She has been called "The Fun Rachel", "Spitfire" and "Funny Girl". She loved parties, singing and gatherings with her family and friends. She also loved to travel and was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan.

On April 11, 2023, she went to the hospital with stomach and back pain. After a series of tests, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon cancer. Within 6 days, she had a colon resection, and her family was told that she would need chemotherapy. She was scheduled to have her port put in just one week after her surgery, when she became very ill and readmitted to the hospital. Within 1 day, she was told that her cancer had progressed and would only have days to 2 weeks to live. She decided to go home on hospice care. She came home on Friday, May 5, 2023, and was greeted by a surprise visit of over 200 family, friends, co-workers, & Management from Costco Wholesale, in which she was deeply touched, and she couldn’t have been any happier! Rachael was employed with Costco Wholesale for 23 years. She was highly favored not just by family and friends, but by Executive Management and Management as well. Rachael was very active in raising funds for The Children’s Miracle Network, and Breast Cancer Awareness walks. She declined quickly and on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 7:40 A.M., she went peacefully to meet her Lord, and Savior, Jesus Christ. If Rachael could leave any suggestions to anyone, it would be to “live life to the fullest, do what you have a desire to do, and make sure you get your colonoscopy.” Rachael’s family would sincerely like to thank everyone that had a part in her life, her medical care, and those of you who had fund-raisers for her and Ryder’s benefits and her medical care.

Rachael was a devoted and loving Mother of her 2 ½ year old Son, Ryder Von Waters; loving Daughter of Belinda and her husband Glenn Castle, Donald Waters (father) and William Sollenberger (stepfather); she was a fond Sister of Michelle L. Brookman, and Jacob Waters. She is also survived by her devoted Aunts, Pam Hovatter and Remona Poston; Uncle, Mark Fador; her Nieces, Brittany Tucker and her husband, Brian, and Sarah Brookman and one Nephew, Jacob Brookman. She is also survived by one Great Niece, Savannah Tucker, and one Great Nephew, Caleb Tucker. She is predeceased in death by her Grandparents, Mary and Mike Fador, John Lemon, and her Aunt Susan. Rachael is also survived by a HOST of Family and Friends.

In Lieu of flowers donations are being accepted for Ryder's future. Please make checks payable to Ryder Waters Trust and mail to the funeral home, - OR- The American Cancer Society ( donate.cancer.org ), - OR- The Children's Miracle Network ( donate.childrensmiraclenetworkhospitals.org ). The family would like to request that anyone attending the visitation and/or service to wear your Ravens gear, Vans and/or colored clothing and to dress casual!
