Raymond Kirby

March 31, 1925 — November 12, 2007

On November 12, 2007, Raymond J. "Boe" Kirby, 82, beloved husband, devoted father, and loving grandfather passed away at his home after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Ray, a World War II veteran worked at the United States Coast Guard Yard in Curtis Bay for 34 years until he retired in 1980. He belonged to the Glen Burnie Masonic Lodge, NARFE, American Legion, VFW Post 40, volunteered for Meals on Wheels for 16 years, and was a lifetime member of Christ Lutheran Church in Baltimore. Ray greatly enjoyed fishing, coin collecting, playing pool, telling stories, and most of all spending time with his family. Ray, a 52 year resident of Glen Burnie, is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marie; his son Bruce Kirby, his daughter Cynthia Wilde, his brother Walter Lee Kirby, and his six grandchildren - Anthony, Amy, Christopher, Ryan, J.T., and Leslie. He will be missed by many.
