On Sunday, September 19, 2021, Richard Joseph Cheicis, Sr. of Glen Burnie, MD, passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Mr. Cheicis was born in Baltimore to the late Frank and Frances Cheicis. He honorably served in the Army National Guard for 6 years, then went on to work at Westinghouse as a computer technician where he retired in 1993 after 39 years. He was an avid fisherman, bowler, Ravens and Oriole fan, and loved to dance. He was a member of the VFW, Loyal Order of the Moose, and the Elks club.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia Cheicis. Survived by his sisters Margaret Daugherty and Betty Chapman, his 5 children; Richard Cheicis, Jr., Carol Brooks, Dolores Jennings, Sandra Heredia, and Cheryl Clinton, 13 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. He was also, so fortunate to have found his loving companion Betty Robinson, to share the remaining years of his life. The family will receive visitors at The Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 10:00 am till the start of the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park, Glen Burnie, MD.
