Richard Connolly, Jr

Richard R. Connolly, Jr. 81, of Gambrills passed away at Baltimore Washington Medical Center on September 8, 2009. he was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Richard and Clara Connolly in 1928. He enlisted in the US Navy during WWII and achieved the rank of Fireman First Class. He worked for the Baltimore Gas & Electric Company as an electrical Construction Supervisor for 43 years. He was a member of the Glen Burnie Masonic Lodge #213 and the American Legion Post #40. Mr. Connolly loved to play golf and enjoyed taking care of his family and was easy to please. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Betty Elizabeth Connolly. He is the devoted father of Richard Connolly, III, Deborah Connolly, Cheryl Meyers and Ellen McLaughlin; dear brother of William Connolly and Jeanette Bayne; loving grandfather of Tracy Houghton, Gilbert Meyers, III, Molly Ellen, Olivia Marie and Claire Benedicta McLaughlin. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.
