Richard E. Hughan, 68, a resident of Glen Burnie, passed away on July 7, 2015. Rich was born in New Kensington, Pa., on February 21, 1947 to the late Richard and Grace Hughan. He honorably served our country in the Air Force and later by working at NSA, retiring after 36 years of service. He was a resident of Glen Burnie for 37 years, during which time he raised his sons and helped coach their youth sports teams. He was a life-long Steelers fan, member of the Maryland Steelers Fan Club. He was a devoted grandfather who never missed a school concert or recital, and he enjoyed making regular trips to his home in Lewes, Del., with his family.
Rich is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jeanne M. Hughan; three sons, Scott Hughan and wife Patricia, Bryan Hughan and wife Leslie, Chris Hughan and wife Sharon; five grandchildren, Emilia, Alaina, Sylvia, Virginia and Dexter; his brother, Charles Hughan and wife Valerie; sister-in-law Joan Rentsch and husband Gary; brother-in-law, Tim Schelfe and wife Ruth Anne. He is also survived by three nieces and one nephew.
