Richard Patrick Krueger, Sr.

Richard Patrick Krueger, Sr., a dedicated longshoreman, loving father, and proud veteran, passed away on March 21, 2025, in Linthicum, MD. Born on December 30, 1934, in Baltimore to the late Herman and Bridget Krueger, Richard led a life that was firmly rooted in his community, faith, and family.

Richard honorably served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1956, a period during which he developed a strong sense of duty and discipline that would carry throughout his life. After his military service, he became a longshoreman at the Port of Baltimore, where he worked diligently to support his family and earned the respect of his colleagues. His leadership skills shone brightly when he served as President of the International Longshoremen's Association Local 953, a role that highlighted his commitment to his profession and fellow workers.

Beyond his career, Richard was an active member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, where he participated in the life of the community and shared his faith with others. His devotion to his church was a testament to his character and provided him with a source of joy and connection.

Richard is survived by his sons, Richard Krueger, Jr., Herman Krueger, Michael J. Krueger, Christopher Krueger, Joseph Krueger, and Charles Krueger; his daughters, Patricia DiLonardo, Bridget Arcoraci, and Alice McGruder; and a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends, and extended family who will cherish his memory.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Alice A. Krueger, and his son, Thomas Krueger. Richard’s legacy of love, hard work, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Thursday, March 27th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church on Friday, March 28th at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
