On January 14, 2019, Richard Frank Mlynski “Dick”, 89, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, passed away at his home. A first generation American, born of Polish immigrants, Baleslawa and Wladyslaw Mlynski, Dick was born on November 20, 1929, in Rotterdam, New York. He served his country proudly as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division. He then went on to work as a machine operator at Locke Insulator in Baltimore. Dick was a member of American Legion Posts 34 & 40, and he enjoyed being with his friends and family.
Dick was predeceased by his first and second wives, Ann Mlynski and Shirley Mlynski, his granddaughter, Rebecca, and his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca G. Mlynski; his loving daughters, Mary Sue Price and Ellen Benson; his cherished grandchildren, Jason Gruver, Jeremy Benson, Joshua Benson, and Brooke Benson and his great-grandchildren, Maggie, Jacob, Remi, and Caleb. He is also survived by his dear extended family from both American Legion Posts.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, S.W. (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Friday, January 18th, from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 19th, at 10 AM at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 4708 Prudence St., Baltimore, MD 21226. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dick’s name may be made to The American Heart Association or The American Legion.
